Server Spam Filtering

How to implement spam filtering or spam blocking on your server.

Cross-Platform	These spam filtering applications should function with most operating systems.
Unix	These solutions should work with most UNIX platforms.
Windows	Several Windows mail servers have built-in spam filtering; smtp proxies or add-ons are available for those mail servers that don't cover spam filtering.
Mac	A very few Apple spam filters are available.
Server Addons	Filtering add-ons to specific mail server applications and instructions on how to filter spam with specific servers.
Appliances	A spam filtering appliance gateway that sits in front of your mail server.
ASPs	Application Service Providers (ASP) pass your email via their own hosted service servers before delivering it to your own, minus the spam. You just change your MX record.
Greylisting	Greylisting uses a simple technique to defer delivery of email, so deflecting spam.
Tarpitting	Tarpitting can identify spam sessions and slow them down, so reducing the volume of incoming spam.
